Dahil Sa Galing Bata …

Share the lessons learned and impact of Galing Bata on your life.

Share one example of how you have seen Galing Bata’s “Gabay, Lingap at Bantay” in action. It could be during a time when you were a student, volunteer or staff.

I remember Tita Flor and Tita Tina when I first came as a volunteer to do the yearbook/scrapbook. They were so welcoming. It was nice for Ate Lisa to suggest I volunteer in the FEC location where Tito Chito started. It helped me retrace my roots and find my calling to be a Filipino Bilingual Educator. How I invested in researching and archiving FEC history so when others search for Filipino education in SF, we are here. I remember Tita Tina saying that she sees the teacher in me. That truly was a turning point in my life.

What is one wish you have for our students and families we serve?

I wish they all have happiness, health, a good and a safe home.

Share with us your favorite self-care or wellness activity that you practice.

I love going to the beach and meditating, yoga, eating my favorite ice cream, and/or playing the piano (Harana songs) and singing, or listening to my favorite artists.

To really get a glimpse of who you are, what Filipino songs are you currently listening to?

Maybe We Could be a Thing, Umiibig, Gaano Kita Kamahal, Lagi, Kapag Ako Ay Nagmahal and Ikaw (Regine version).
